This is one of the finest programs organized by the NNZFS. It has successfully completed first year. The society has greatly appreciated the contributions made by the first language instructor Yasodha Malla, and thanked for her responsibility, patience and time. Here we express our gratitude to all Bhaujus who have helped us either as a reliever language teacher or as an assistant instructor to run these classes regularly and effectively. In fact, we should not forget to thank all the students who have shown their great enthusiasms and potentials to learn Nepali language with an active participation and have also accepted to do extra assignments besides their regular school works. And of course we would like to thank all the parents who bring their children to these language classes and wait patiently during the class hours.
These language classes were initially held at a Lincoln Community Hall, fortnightly every Friday, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. After a successful trial of six months, another six month session was started from the 15th of February 2008. Because of the size of the class, and also different age groups and their levels, it was then decided to have two instructors. From September 2008, this program has been partly supported by the Cultural and Educational Support scheme of the Christchurch City Council (CCC). The society is grateful to the CCC for their generous funding support to the program.
